Disabled Shower Rooms
Adapting bathrooms into accessible, level-access shower rooms is our speciality. In just a few days we can install cost-effective solutions to improve the ease of bathing for our disabled customers. Our team has worked on over a thousand of these projects, with over 50 years of combined experience in our team.
General Plumbing
As a Gas Safe registered company we are able to offer a range of services to domestic and commercial customers. We are a retained contractor to a range of businesses across York including schools, doctors surgeries, government organisations and private companies.
Bathroom Transformations
As well as the plumbing we take care of all the fitting and building elements including joinery, tiling, plastering, flooring and electrical. Complimented with a large choice of competitively priced furniture and materials from our trusted suppliers we deliver great value projects in quick time.
Our Story
The Founding of No5 Plumbing
No.5 Plumbing is built on the experience and expertise of its founder, Dan Battle. Born and raised in Huntington and now living in Dunnnington, Dan has 30 years of plumbing experience after starting out with Portakabin.

No.5 Plumbing became a limited company when Dave Powell joined forces with Dan and his wife Laura. Dave lives in Strensall and joined No5 after changing careers from event management and completing a Masters of Business Administration degree at York St John University. ​​​​
Why are we called 'No.5'?
When starting out as a sole trader, the plumbing merchants used the top line of Dan's home address to set up his account. With our work taking place in customer's homes it seemed like a good fit.

The number 5 is of course our favourite number and we are proud to sponsor York City FC's number 5 and captain, Callum Howe.

Recently we have expanded our support of York City FC to sponsor the match day stewards.
Why the focus on Accessible Bathrooms?
The company directors started working together because of a shared belief that this work matters. It contributes to improving the daily lives of people in our community by enabling ageing and disabled residents to be cared for in their own homes and retain as much independence as possible.
While we are not carers, we care about delivering solutions that help. We care about doing a good job and believe we are pretty good at providing customer service, quality work and value for money. It is this clarity of purpose that helps us build a like-minded, committed and talented team.
